- SCHEDULING A PHOTO SESSION
How do I schedule pictures?
Email us at snydersportspix@williamdsnyder.com and tell us what team you’re scheduling for, give us three possible dates, times and locations t
hat you have already cleared with your coach and tell us how many skaters you have and how many goalies. Please email us instead of phoning so that we have a written record of your request.
How long do the on-ice hockey shoots take?
A lot depends on the players. If they’re on time, ready to go, cooperate and work hard, we can finish in as little as 30 minutes.
Do you need the whole ice to take the photos?
No. We'll need it only for the team photo. We need one full quarter of the ice – center line to end line – to shoot the individual photos. Once we begin shooting the individuals, your coach can easily run a 1/2 – or even 3/4 – ice practice.
Do you accept credit cards for payment?
We accept Visa and MasterCard. Also cash and checks.
Can I order online?
For certain action/game events we'll provide a link where you can order online, but not portrait sessions - we're still working on that.
Can I look at the photos online before I purchase them? Game action, yes. But unfortunately, not the portraits. We perform a fair amount of toning, cropping and Photo-shopping on each image before we send them out. It's not feasible to do that with all the images we shoot. We want you to be happy with our photography and will work with you to achieve that goal - up to and including refunding your money if we can't find an image that satisfies you or we can't schedule a re-shoot. We will not, however, refund your money if you leave a team between the time you place your order and receive your merchandise.
How can I get an order form? You can download one from the website.
If I don’t order at the time of the shoot, can I still order? Absolutely. We
try to photograph every player whether or not we have an order. You can mail or email the order form to the addresses at the top of the form.
What if it’s months later? No problem. If you find the order form in the bottom of your player’s hockey bag in June or even at the beginning of the next season, it’s not too late! In fact, we keep all photos for at least ten years. So, if your son’s a midget and you can’t find his peewee pictures - and we took his peewee picture - they are still available.
How long will it take to get the pictures back? Usually two to three weeks depending on the time of year. Some keepsake items may take longer.
What is a combo? The combo is an 8x10 that includes a team picture with roster and logo, an inset of your player’s individual portrait, and your player’s name, number and position. It is included in all packages or you can order it alone.
What is the difference between a Deluxe and a Basic team photo? The Deluxe team photo includes a roster below the photo along with the organization’s logo, team name and year. The basic photo is the image of the team on an 8x10 sheet of paper and nothing else. Due to the nature of the way most of the team photos are posed, there can be a fair amount of white space/border at the bottom and top of the Basic team photo.
What if I want a size/product that isn't on the order form?
Drop us an email with your request and we'll see what we can do for you. There are many custom sizes available along with additional keepsake merchandise.
My son’s hair was in his eyes in the last picture. How can I avoid that? Remember: These are action photos. When your player stops, long hair will swing forward. Have him tuck it behind his ears, use hairspray or (Heaven forbid!) get a haircut. A comb can only do so much. We will do what he can to capture him before the hair flops forward but it isn’t always possible.
What if my player is injured? Hopefully, he/she will be able to participate in the team photo. If you would like an individual portrait, and he/she cannot skate, we can photograph a player just standing or, depending on the injury we might be able to pose him/her and add the ice spray in later. An alternative is to wait until another team from your organization is being photographed by us and have your player photographed then.
What if my player misses his/her team shoot? We can list him/her as “Not Pictured” on the roster and take his/her individual picture during another team’s shoot.
